Grattons Cedar Lodges
written by Mrs Griffiths, June 08, 2010
These lodges were built in the 60s/70s and haven't been touched since, inside or out! We stayed in "Seagull" and it was very dirty, mouldy and the sofa, chair and beds were uncomfortable. The double bed just fitted the room and three sides of it were against the walls and once in had to climb over hubby to get in or out if he was asleep. The shower consisted of a shower tray on the floor in the corner and a shower curtain which stuck to you the whole time as there was not much room and I'm slim and only 5'4"! (The shower head was thick with mould) Our lodge was not beside the car park area and it was a steep climb and hard work with all our belongings. We left early and intended to complain but the owners had gone out even though reception should have been open at that time and left the keys in envelopes taped to the reception door for the arrivals that day, charming!!
It was a lovely area and central for attractions but we would never go there again

I have just returned from a wonderful week at Grattons Lodges. They were just as they said in the brochure, very quiet, clean and comfortable. i was able to go to lots of places nearby such as the beach and exmoor. Enjoyed many cream teas (naughty but nice). The owners at Grattons were so friendly and gave me directions to lots of interesting places. All you could hear at night were the owls hooting and the lovely bird ong during the day. I will certainly be returning.smilies/grin.gifsmilies/grin.gifsmilies/grin.gifsmilies/grin.gif
