Union leaders including those that represent British Airways crew will meet later this month to debate holding a coordinated strike to coincide with the royal wedding.
A huge spring cross-industry walk out to protest against cuts will be discussed at the Trade Unions Congress in January.
It is thought the walk-out would include all those who are currently in dispute such as BA and the London Underground.
The Times quotes leader of the Public and Commercial Services Union Mark Serwotka as saying further strikes will be “inevitable”. His union has 300,000 members.
He said: “We are looking at the spring. The more of us that stand together against the cuts, the more problems we can create. Unless you look like you want a fight, they won’t negotiate. The Government has to see we are serious.”
The walk out is earmarked for the end of April on the working days between the Easter weekend, the royal wedding on April 29 and the May Day bank holiday on May 2.
