Description
Spectacularly situated in the west of Scotland, looking over a beautiful winding river and on to a breathtaking mountain, you’d be hard pressed to find a more picturesque location in the British Isle than Tigh-An-Daraich. Welcoming lovers of the great outdoors to discover some of Scotland’s most attractive countryside, guests have the perfect base combining an ideal location and luxury lodges to create a wonderful stay north of the border.
Ashtree lodge has a category 2 disabled rating. As you would expect, all home-from-home amenities can be found throughout the open plan lodges with a collection of holiday luxuries enhancing the stay at Tigh-An-Daraich. The self-catering lodges are ideal for families or large groups in search of a tranquil Scottish base with accommodation set on a spacious wooded area. Priding itself on a close affinity with nature and wildlife it’s not unusual to see Golden Eagles or Buzzards flying in the sky during an afternoon relaxing in the lodge or on the balcony.
Close to the quaint hamlet, Bridge of Awe, resting thirty metres above the mesmerising River Awe guests have unspoilt views of the winding water and the surrounding mountain scenery including Ben Cruachan (3698ft), or known to locals as “The Hollow Mountain”, due to it being home to a hydro electric power
station. Perfect for those who love spending time encompassed by Mother Nature, rambling trails, cycling routes, fresh and course fishing, canoeing and bird watching - a variety of activities keep individuals of all ages entertained.
Only 14 miles away from Oban and 3 miles away from Taynuilt, a number of former guests have commented on the convenient location for those in search of memorable day trip. Whether you decide to travel to Fort William for a day sightseeing or to the coast and enjoy a day on the seas spotting dolphins or whales, Tigh-An-Daraich is never far from a magical day out. Open throughout the year, those who can’t enjoy a week long stay can unwind during a short break with a number of flexible packages available during the off-season.
